Rant-- boooom

Overlooked youth.
so very underappreciated,
Misused by bad leadership,
Sent in the wrong direction.

A leader searches for talent,
But only the kind he can control,
Brilliance is held down constantly,
For fear he may lose control of it.

Subordination is easy, but undesired.
The leaders send us off hither and thither,
With no real application of our talents,
On paper I'm junk, but in practice I can do it.

They don't want me because of my age,
Everything I do is overlooked because I'm-
Too smart, or too young... we can't have that.
Those kids are out of control!

That's just my leaders, think of the rest of the cattle-
Who, disrespect me and don't even try to coexist.
Make love not war was the slogans of their era,
But they've lost their love for their very own--

Flesh and blood, falling down to cry,
We can't do this on our own,
They don't care, but that's not our fault..
Just another road-block on the path of life.

You're not allowed there until you've been-
Crusted over and callous, by the same system that you become.

In these odd years, youth is stronger than ever,
And ever misguided by themselves because they don't stand up.

It makes me sad to not only be overlooked by my leaders,
but also by my peers: they don't care,
All of the 'normal' ones too, they look at me like I just killed someone.
Like I just snapped and broke off from the whole game of life...

This blood isn't on my hands, my generation is united in its pain,
But divided by its differences so easily.
Its so agonizing to be overlooked in the crowd,
To know you can, but to be labeled.

Fortunately for us, we've been seen and heard by the only One who matters.
The only one who knows what we can really do, given the motivation.

We can do all thing through Christ who strengthens us,
In this generation, talent and ability flow to all flesh,
Young and old alike are empowered, but do nothing
Who'll stand up? Will you?
